We are looking for voice actors to participate in a new series of The Story Slot. In each episode, we feature traditional stories with light dramatization.
Below is the list of characters in all upcoming episodes of The Story Slot. You can claim / audition for up to three roles. If there are more than one claimants on a character, we’ll decide when the recording stage comes in.
The Straw, The Coal And The Bean
Coal – Female voice. Any age, any accent. Fairly soft, innocent type voice.
Bean – Female voice. Any age, any accent. Soft, kindly, intelligent.
The Darning Needle
Needle – Haughty, snobbish female voice. Any age. Possibly RP accent.
Fingers – Confident, authoritative. Male voice. Any age. Any accent.
Bottle – Pompous, haughty. Male voice, any age. Possibly RP accent.
Briar Rose
Briar Rose – Soft, young female voice. Character age 15 years.
Fish – Wise type. Either male or female. Any accent.
Queen – Soft female voice. RP accent. Young to middle-aged voice.
Bad Fairy – Harsh female voice. Any age.
12th Fairy – Kindly, wise, older female voice. Any accent.
Prince – Young, confident type. Around 18-25 years old. RP accent.
Raynard and Brian
Raynard – Crafty/confident male. Any age. Character is a fox.
Brian – Softer/kind male. Character is a bear, so possibly gruff-type voice.
The Twelve Dancing Princesses
King – Strong/Fierce. RP accent. Middle-aged to older.
Soldier – Old/Wise. Possibly southern counties English accent.
Woman – A sage type. Possibly southern counties English accent.
Daughter 1 – Female voice, 20-25 years old. Confident/self-assured. RP accent, not too harsh.
Daughter 12 – Younger female voice, 15-18 years old. RP accent, not too harsh.
Prince 12 – Young man, 18-25 years old. RP accent, not too harsh. Confident.
